1. Wax Carving Workshop 

Make your own wax ring/ pendant and have it cast into sterling silver. Our wax carving class is perfect place to start if you want to give wax carving a try, or wish to refresh and develop your skills further!

We understand how daunting it is to start something new and how easy it is to lose it, if you don’t use it 😊 We pride ourselves on small intimate classes, this is so that;

1. You, our students feel comfortable in your new explorations

2. Our teachers can really get to know you and help and guide you through each class.

How long does the course run for?

We offer a 5-week course on Saturdays, from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Commencing on 22nd February and concluding on 28th March 2020. Please note, there will be no class held on Saint Patrick's Day Week; Saturday, 21st of March.

Unlike traditional institutions, our priority is to help you learn and develop a new skill, not profit.

This is why we offer only 8 places within our bespoke courses, so you get the most out of each class.

You will be taught by a highly experienced gold-smith, working within the industry who has an abundance of Jewellery design experience.

What does the course cover?

You will learn all the basic skills needed for traditional wax carving techniques. On completion of this wax carving course, you will have;

  • Chosen your design, you will be given a few different options to pick from.
  • Learn and understand all the techniques necessary for carving your design into wax
  • Have your pieces sent off for casting.
  • Post casting preparation, ensuring your pieces are ready to wear

What's Included?

We provide Tea and coffee (and some chocolate ;) )

All tools and equipment, materials (wax), drills, aprons, are provided for the duration of the course.

How much we talking?

The cost of our bespoke 5-week intimate course is just €220.00

Please note, there is 2 small surcharges, separate from the cost of the course, one is for the cost of your silver, which is weighed on its return from casting. The second is for your casting, we send your wax carving to the casters, this won’t be any more than €25) 

 

2. Introductory Jewellery-making Course

This class is for complete newbies or for those of you who catch themselves saying ‘I’m just a little rusty’

We understand how daunting it is to start something new and how easy it is to lose it, if you don’t use it 😊 We pride ourselves on small intimate classes, this is so that;

1. You, our students feel comfortable in your new explorations

2. Our teachers can really get to know you and help and guide you through each class.

Our introductory classes are the perfect place to start. We recommend trying one of our taster classes beforehand, so you have an idea of what’s to come. This class is suited to you if you’re a complete novice to jewellery making, or if you want to refresh/ develop your skills further!

How long does the course run for?

We offer a 9-week course on Saturdays, from 10:00am – 1:00pm. Commencing on 1st February and concluding on 4th April 2020. Please note, there will be no class held on Saint Patrick's Day Week; Saturday, 21st of March. 

Why learn with us?

Unlike traditional institutions, our priority is to help you learn and develop a new skill, not profit.

This is why we offer only 8 places within our course, so you get the most out of each class.

You will be taught by a highly experienced gold-smith with an abundance of teaching experience.

You will learn all the basic skills needed for traditional silver-smithing techniques. On completion of this Jewellery making course, you will have learnt about:

  • Piercing

  • Hammering techniques

  • Stone setting

  • Filing

  • Polishing

  • Operate tools such as pendant drills

  • Solder with an Orca and a hand torch

    Everything you make, you keep! On completion of the course you will have made;

    • A pierced pendant

    • A beautiful ring with a rub over bezel setting.

    What is included:

    We provide Tea and coffee

    All tools and equipment, materials, drills, aprons, are provided.

    How much we talking?

    The cost of our 9-week course is €360

    Please note there is €50 surcharge, separate from the cost of the course, this is put towards the cost of materials such as silver and the gem stone for your ring etc.

     

    3. Improvers Jewellery-making Course

     

     

     

     

     

     

    This class is a follow on for those who have completed 'The Introductory Jewellery-making Course' or have previous experience of other courses/classes.

    We pride ourselves on small intimate classes, this is so that;

    1. You, our students feel comfortable to grow further in your new explorations

    2. Our teachers can really get to know you and help and guide you through each class.

    Our follow on classes are perfect to help you to continue to learn and grow under our experts. We recommend that you have completed our Introductory Jewellery Course before undertaking this class, however, this isn't compulsory. This class is suited to you if you’ve undertaken a beginners course and would love to develop your skills further!

    How long does the course run for?

    We offer a 8-week course on Tuesdays, from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. Commencing on 4th of February and concluding on 31st March 2020. Please note, there will be no class held on Saint Patrick's Day; Tuesday, 17th of March. 

    Why learn with us?

    Unlike traditional institutions, our priority is to help you learn and develop a new skill, not profit.

    This is why we offer only 8 places within our course, so you get the most out of each class.

    You will be taught by a highly experienced gold-smith with an abundance of teaching experience.

     On completion of this Jewellery making course, you will have learnt:

    • To perfect your soldering technique
    • How to create riveting and using hot & cold connections.
    • How to make your own links and catches for your bracelet 
    • Making earrings and their findings. 
    • Build on your piercing and filing techniques
    • Hammer & punching to create surface texture

      Everything you make, you keep! 

      What is included:

      We provide Tea and coffee

      All tools and equipment, materials, drills, aprons, are provided.

      How much we talking?

      The cost of our 8-week course is €320

      Please note there is a small surcharge, separate from the cost of the course, this is put towards the cost of the silver and other materials needed, this will be around €50.
