Weekend Improvers Course

This class is an intensive weekend course to take your skills to the next level

Is our 2 Day Weekend Improvers Course for you?

The emphasis of this two day course is to improve upon the skills you have already learnt in our introductory course or if you have learnt a few skills already in another evening class or course.

You will practice and develop these skills and learn a few new techniques as well. This is the perfect way to take your jewellery making to the next level.

Day 1: Saturday

On Saturday you will be making a chain bracelet and setting a faceted ( diamond cut ) stone. You will also learn how to make the findings for this – so the hook and eye clasp. If you prefer you can solder on an extender chain to make it into a necklace.

On this day you will be practising and improving on the following skills:

  • soldering
  • stone setting
  • filing

Day 2: Sunday

On Sunday you will be finishing off the bracelet, and then learning riveting – a way of joining jewellery through cold connections – no soldering! You will make a pendant and can use mixed metals if you like.

On this day you will be practising and improving on the following skills:

  • Piercing
  • Filing
  • Texturing

At the end of the weekend you will take away with you:

  • A chain bracelet/necklace with a faceted stone set into it
  • A pendant made with mixed metals
