Our Gemstone Setting Course is the perfect place to start if you want to try your hand at Jewellery design and making or have done previous courses and want to develop your skills further!
We understand how daunting it is to start something new & how easy it is to lose it, if you don’t use it ???? We pride ourselves on small intimate classes, this is so that;
1. You, our students feel comfortable in your new explorations
2. Our teachers can really get to know you and help and guide you through each class.
What will I learn?
In this fun and flexible Gemstone Setting course you will learn how to make a ring or pendant in sterling silver and how to set a gemstone into your design!
It’s open to all learning stages so it’s really your own project with the help and guidance of our experienced tutor who will be there to guide and support you with her extensive knowledge so you get the most out your gemstone setting experience.

Full day course – 10:00am – 5:30pm. (1 hour break for lunch)

You will be taught by a highly experienced goldsmith/silversmith, working within the industry who has an abundance of Jewellery design experience.
What does the course cover?
You will learn how to create a ring or pendant out of sterling silver.
The theory of 2 styles of setting gemstones
The practice of your chosen gem setting technique.
On completion of this carving course, you will have:
- Chosen and developed your design
- Handcrafted your own ring or pendant
- Set your chosen gemstone into your handmade ring or pendant.
What’s Included?
We provide Tea & coffee and some chocolate ????
All tools and equipment, drills & aprons are provided for the duration of the course.
The gemstone and silver to make your design is extra, it will cost approximately €15
Health and Safety
We ask that you wear closed shoes. You will be provided with aprons to keep your clothes clean. We have halved our class capacity to ensure the safety and well being of our staff and students during the current situation we find ourselves in. We ask that all students and teachers wear visors or masks during our class, as an added precaution, to keep each other safe. If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided for you. Each of our studios have been fitted with perspex dividers. We have installed sanitation stations for you to use on entering and exiting our premises.
