Spinner rings are also known as fidget/stress/anxiety rings due to the calming effect that playing with the moving centre has on the wearer.
This is a rare opportunity to create your own special spinner ring from scratch. In this class you will start from scratch using basic silver and goldsmith skills to make your own spinner ring. You’ll be proud to say that you handmade this complex and meaningful ring yourself in just one day!
Attendees of this workshop learn an array of skills and techniques to enable them to go on to do our longer courses. You will get an insight into this incredible, ancient craft with a highly-experienced goldsmith who works within the industry and has an abundance of jewellery-design experience.

What will I learn in this workshop
Learn goldsmithing basics hands-on:
Create unique textures on silver sheet for customisation.
Calculate and cut silver sheet to form inner band.
Measure and cut outer spinning ring to precise length.
Add textures and stamps for outer ring embellishment.
Flare inner ring with hammer to secure spinning ring
Learn through demonstration and explanation:
Solder the outer ring
Clean, polish, and finish both inner and outer rings.

This one-day workshop is from 10am to 5.30pm with an hour for lunch. There is an array of fabulous lunch places to eat with Dublin’s cultural quarter on our doorstep.
Do you offer engraving?
Yes, we offer engraving on your ring, it takes 48 hours on week days. You can make it even more special by adding initials or a date. The cost of this is €30 if collected from our city centre shop. Alternatively, shipping is €10 (within Ireland) to €15- €20 (outside of Ireland).
Do you offer gold plating?
Yes, we offer a gold-plating service. It’s €30 for a 14-21-day service. You will be contacted by text when your spinner ring is ready for collection. Alternatively, shipping is either an additional €10 (within Ireland) to €15 (outside of Ireland).
Is the venue accessible
Unfortunately, no. As both of our studios are located in very old and beautiful period buildings, we have lots of stairs and are therefore not accessible for people with impaired mobility.
