St. Brigid’s Claddagh Workshop
To mark the National holiday that celebrate’s the begining of Spring in Ireland we are holding a themed claddagh ring workshop for St. Brigid’s Day.
A Claddagh Ring is a traditional Irish ring in which a heart represents love, the crown stands for loyalty and the two clasped hands symbolize friendship. Learn the basics of silver-smithing from sawing, soldering, filing, hammering and polishing to create your own beautiful, handmade silver ring!
St Brigid’s Day themed Claddagh Workshops will take place 1st of February at 1pm, 2nd of February at 10am and 3rd of February at 12pm
St Brigid’s Day Metal Clay Workshop
To mark the National holiday that celebrate’s the beggining of Spring in Ireland we are holding a themed workshop for St. Brigid’s Day.
Metal clay is a magical medium that starts out as soft clay and can be shaped and moulded into a unique, bespoke piece with your own design, textures and initial. When it is fired it turns into real fine silver right before your eyes during the class! Join our experienced teachers on an exploration of this unusual medium and discover its endless possibilities.
This workshop will take place 1st of February at 11am
Valentine’s Day Workshops
One of the most popular times of year to gift your loved ones jewellery, why not make it more special by creating a piece to gift them yourself or to create more memories together, spend some qualty time creating handmade pieces for each other together.
From February 10th to 14th there will be 50% off the cost of engraving, On February 14th all workshop will come with a complimentary glass of prosecco to make the occasion.

Learn goldsmithing basics hands-on:
How to pierce (saw) through a strip of silver.
How to form a ring using pliers.
How to file the ring using different size hand files.
Use a planishing hammer to add texture to the ring.
Choose from flat, pebble, or bark finish options.
Learn through demonstration and explanation:
The soldering of your ring.
Polish your ring using a professional polishing motor.
Choose a matte or shiny finish for your ring’s look.
Whats included in the workshop
Tea, coffee, and some chocolate treats
All tools, equipment, and aprons provided for the duration of the workshop.
*My child is under the age of 16, can they attend the workshop?
Anyone aged between 10 and 16 years of age, can take part provided they are accompanied by a participating adult over 18 years. Both the child and adult must be booked in prior to the start of the workshop, if an under 16 is booked in without an adult they will not be allowed attend unless we have space to book in a guardian on that workshop and if we are fully booked this may not be the case. Anyone under the age of 10 years old is not allowed access to the workshops due to health and safety precautions.
What happens if I can’t make it or if I am late to my workshop?
If you can no longer make it to your booked workshop you must inform us in writing by email to info@silverworks.ie. Your cancellation must be confirmed as received by us on or before the relevant dates. Cancellations 48 hours before your scheduled workshop are entitled to reschedule to an alternative date of your choosing or a refund minus a 10% administrative fee. If it is between 48 hours and 24 hours before the start time of your workshop you will be entitled to a reschedule to an alternative date of your choosing, or a refund of 50%. If it is less than 24 hours before your workshop date and time you are not entitled to a refund or a reschedule. Cancelations after the start time of your workshop will not be considered and are not entitled to a refund or reschedule.
Our cut off point for accepting participants into the workshop is 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, If you are later than this time our teachers may refuse you access as it disrupts the workshop for the other students, so please plan out your route to us to allow plenty of time incase of any delays. If you fail to attended your scheduled workshop or are later than our cut off point you are not entitled to a refund or reschedule.
If a class is cancelled or postponed for reasons for which we are responsible, such as staff illness, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the class to suit the majority of attendees, or add missed hours onto remaining classes.
Please note that all classes require a minimum number of attendees. If too few bookings are received, classes may be rescheduled.
We normally have mid week workshops at 12pm,3pm and 6:30pm ( Thursday is slightly later time of 1pm,4pm and 7pm ) weekends 10am,1pm,4pm and 7pm on Saturdays
Can one of our group do the Forge a Ring Workshop and one of us do the Charm Workshop?
Unfortunately not, as they are two very different procedures so they require two separate workshops that need two separate teachers.
I don’t like the thickness of the band, can I make my ring thinner or thicker?
We offer a standard 4mm size band in the classes but if you would like a 3mm, 5mm or 6mm you can select this on a check out for an additional cost.
I have a beautiful stone I would like to set it in the ring, can I?
Unfortunately gem setting can be quite skilled work and is not something that we can cover in our 2-hour workshops. However, if you can either send us a photo by email or bring it along with you, we can provide you with a quote. We have some fabulous setters who can almost definitely do this for you. It takes around 4 weeks to get this set.
Can you get me a stone and set it for me?
Yes! Simply send us an email with the stone and dimensions you would like and we can get you a quote. Leave your ring with us after the workshop and we will get it done for you. Stone setting normally takes 4 weeks on top of finding the stone for you.
Do you offer personalised engraving?
Yes, it’s €30 – it takes approximately 48 Hours mid-week and up to 72 hours at the weekend. Alternatively, if you need it shipped, it would either be €10 (within Ireland) to €15 – €20 (outside of Ireland) depending on where you live. Please note that it is at Owner’s Own Risk for items to be posted. We cannot accept responsibility for lost items once we leave them in our courier’s hands. We do all we can to but once they are gone to post, there is nothing further we can do. Engraving can be paid for on check out, or It can also be decided on the day of your workshop and paid for then.
Do you offer a gold-plating service?
Yes, it’s €30 for a 14-21 day service turnaround. You can add this on at check out, or simply let your teacher know and they will organise this for you. Postage is extra- see above.
Is the venue accessible
Unfortunately, no. As both of our studios are located in very old and beautiful period buildings, we have lots of stairs and are therefore not accessible for people with impaired mobility.
